Questions about this data
- Why only soybean and groundnut?
- They are the oilseeds currently covered here with separate seed-for-sowing subheadings at the global 6-digit HS level. Sunflower, rapeseed and sesame seed for sowing are not separated from crushing seed in the global codes, so we do not show figures that would mix them.
- Is the import unit value a seed price?
- No. It is the customs import value divided by declared net weight, averaged across varieties and origins. It is not a supplier quote.
- Does this show certified seed?
- No. Customs codes do not record certification status, variety or germination.
