Request for quotation — Brazil

Brazil RFQ: greenhouse CAPEX, irrigation and fertilizer

Use this checklist to send one comparable request for a Brazil protected-cultivation project. It mirrors the Brazil planning guide: three packages, each broken into the line items suppliers must price. SeedMatchGroup does not build, sell or stock equipment or fertilizer; staff review your request and manage supplier introductions.

Planning structure only — no published prices, no engineering approval, and no financing, yield or ROI promise. Every figure is a buyer input confirmed by dated supplier quotations.

Before you send: request basics

  • Total project value of at least USD 250,000. Below that, the request stays a private draft and is not routed to suppliers.
  • Site location, area in hectares, crops and target planting date.
  • Brazilian suppliers quote in BRL or USD depending on imported content (steel, film, climate computers are often USD-linked). SeedMatchGroup publishes no exchange rates — state your preferred quote currency in the RFQ and ask each supplier to date and fix their conversion basis.
  • Recent water analysis and any site, soil or topographic survey you already hold.
  • Which packages you want quoted: one, two or all three below.

Package A — Greenhouse structure & CAPEX

Ask every supplier to price these lines separately, in your stated currency, with a dated validity period.

  1. Structure & covering

Ask suppliers to state: Span type, gutter height, covering film/glass spec, wind and rainfall design loads for your state

  2. Foundations & civil works

Ask suppliers to state: Site levelling, drainage sized on local rainfall intensity, internal roads

  3. Climate package

Ask suppliers to state: Ventilation ratio, insect screens, shade screens, fogging where justified

  4. Growing system

Ask suppliers to state: NFT channels or substrate slabs, gutters, crop support

  5. Irrigation & fertigation plant

Ask suppliers to state: Pump station, filtration, EC/pH dosing, storage tanks (see irrigation block)

  6. Electrical & controls

Ask suppliers to state: Grid connection or generator, climate computer, sensors

  7. Post-harvest & packing

Ask suppliers to state: Pre-cooling, packing line, cold room — quoted separately from the greenhouse

  8. Contingency & freight

Ask suppliers to state: Inland freight to your state, erection supervision, 5–10% contingency

Package B — Irrigation & fertigation

Water is usually available in the main production states, so Brazilian irrigation design is driven by filtration, storage and drainage rather than scarcity. Specify the system so suppliers quote the same duty.

  1. Design duty

Ask suppliers to state: Average and peak demand in L/m²/day (published planning figures: ~4.3 average, ~6.8 peak); gross annual m³ for your area

  2. Source & storage

Ask suppliers to state: Well, river or municipal; storage tank volume in m³ covering peak-day demand plus reserve

  3. Filtration

Ask suppliers to state: Screen, sand or disc filtration sized on source water quality — request a water analysis first

  4. Fertigation

Ask suppliers to state: Number of dosing channels, EC/pH control, drain recirculation percentage if any

  5. Distribution

Ask suppliers to state: Drip line spacing and emitter flow (L/h), sector valves, pressure regulation per block

  6. Drainage & runoff

Ask suppliers to state: Collection and disposal or recirculation of drain water, sized on rainfall plus irrigation

Package C — Fertilizer supply programme

Plan the fertilizer programme in kg/ha per crop cycle, by source (fertigation vs soil-applied). Brazilian fertilizer prices move with import parity and the BRL — obtain dated local quotes rather than relying on any published index.

  1. Crop demand

Ask suppliers to state: N, P₂O₅, K₂O and micronutrient demand in kg/ha per cycle, from your agronomist's recommendation

  2. Fertigation share

Ask suppliers to state: Percentage delivered through drip vs base dressing; soluble grades required

  3. Supply format

Ask suppliers to state: Bagged vs bulk, delivery frequency, on-farm storage in tonnes

  4. Water compatibility

Ask suppliers to state: Water analysis (pH, bicarbonates, EC) checked against the planned fertilizer recipe

  5. Season timing

Ask suppliers to state: Purchase windows aligned to the planting calendar; price validity period in each quote

How quotations are compared

  • Same line items, units and design duty for every supplier, so prices are like-for-like.
  • Dated prices with validity period, currency basis and what is excluded (land, freight, post-harvest).
  • SeedMatchGroup staff review the request before any supplier sees it; supplier identities stay confidential and all communication goes through SeedMatchGroup.
  • Buyers use the platform free. No price, yield, financing or delivery outcome is promised.
