How do I expand an existing greenhouse farm?+
Start from the growth target, not the equipment. Define target area and production, then check whether water supply, pumping, filtration, fertigation, climate plant, electrical capacity and packing can carry it. The systems that cannot are the real project scope, and they become the packages in the RFQ.
What infrastructure must be upgraded when greenhouse area increases?+
Most commonly water storage and pumping, filtration, fertigation channel capacity, electrical connection, and post-harvest throughput. Covered area often scales close to linearly, while shared services scale in steps and have to be resized as a whole.
How do I know if my water system can support expansion?+
Compare peak daily demand at target area against source yield, reservoir buffer volume, pump duty and available irrigation hours per day. Water quality matters as much as volume — salinity and hardness decide whether treatment is part of the project.
Should I modernize an old greenhouse or build a new one?+
It depends on the remaining structural life of the existing houses. Retrofitting climate control or fertigation into a structure near the end of its life rarely pays back; if the structure is sound, modernization is usually far cheaper per hectare than new construction.
How much does commercial greenhouse expansion cost?+
There is no fixed price. Cost is driven by country, greenhouse type, area, climate equipment, irrigation and fertigation, water treatment, electrical works, automation and post-harvest scope.
