Commercial irrigation projects — drip, pivot, fertigation and solar pumping.

Water source and its measured analysis, available flow and pressure, total irrigated area and crop, field topography and block layout, emitter type and spacing, peak daily water requirement, filtration requirement, power source at the pump, and whether fertigation and automation are inside the same package. Without the water analysis and peak demand, filtration and pump sizing are guesses.

It changes filtration type and stage count, emitter selection and flushing regime, acid or oxidiser dosing, pipe materials, and the fertilizer grades that can be used without precipitation. High iron, manganese, bicarbonate, suspended solids or biological load each require a different treatment train — which is why a laboratory analysis, not a description of the source, belongs in the RFQ.

Irrigation delivers water; fertigation equipment (dosing unit, stock tanks, EC/pH monitoring and control, injection pumps, controller) delivers nutrients; the fertilizer product itself is a recurring purchase; and the nutrition programme is a separate professional agronomic responsibility. Capital equipment and recurring product supply are never combined in one request, because they have different suppliers, terms and delivery cycles.

Civil works and trenching, electrical supply to the pump station, water abstraction permits, reservoir lining, a standby power source, telemetry SIM and data plans, commissioning labour, and spare emitters and filter elements. Each exclusion should be resolved to a named owner before proposals are compared line by line.

Normalise scope first — same irrigated area, same emitter specification, same filtration stages, same automation level, same delivery terms — then compare price, lead time, warranty, spare-part availability and local service. Lowest headline price frequently reflects a thinner filtration train or excluded civil works rather than a better commercial offer.

One private brief is submitted; a sourcing specialist reviews it manually, identifies the missing information and normalises it into a single written specification; qualified manufacturers, integrators and EPC contractors are approached only after that internal approval; returned offers are normalised to the same scope, lead time and delivery terms so they can be compared line by line. No supplier is contacted automatically and no buyer contact details are released automatically.
