Buyer intelligence · importing countries · fresh fruit and vegetables

Fresh produce import markets ranked by verified origin flows (2024 data)

Short answer

  • Fifteen importing countries, ranked by what they themselves reported importing in 2024 from Peru (premium fruit and asparagus), Ecuador (bananas) and Kenya (horticulture).
  • The United States, the Netherlands, Germany, China, Spain and the United Kingdom each reported over USD 500 m of these in-scope imports.
  • Origin reports agree on the main destinations: MIDAGRI's 2024 top-10 for Peru, the KNBS/AFA 2024 horticulture table for Kenya and PIB's FY 2024-25 seafood destinations for India.
  • A trade flow is not market access. Each market page links the authority that sets current rules.

Sourcing for any of these markets

Send one confidential request with products, origins, grade, packaging, volumes, delivery window and destination. A sourcing specialist reviews it before any supplier is approached; supplier communication is mediated by Global B2B Group, SeedMatch's parent group, and buyers and suppliers do not contact each other directly. Free for buyers; programmes from USD 250,000. SeedMatch does not grow, export, import or certify, and does not guarantee price, supply or import approval.

Sources and method

Trade figures are importer-reported (UN Comtrade public API, retrieved 26 Oct 2026), 2024 except the UAE (2023, the latest it had reported). Rows under USD 0.5 m are omitted. HS codes may group several products. In scope this round: Peruvian blueberries, grapes, avocados, mangoes, mandarins and asparagus; Ecuadorian bananas; Kenyan avocados, beans, mangoes and other vegetables. Colombian flows are shown but not yet offered as a sourcing lane. Shrimp is context only. Other recorded flows (for example Indian grapes) are outside this round. Not legal advice.
