Sourcing fresh produce for Japan: avocado, mango, banana, grapes, mandarin and pitaya from Peru, Ecuador, India, Kenya and Colombia

Sources reviewed 26 Oct 2026

How to use this page

  • Compare each product by origin: official Japan access (MAFF standard), Japan's reported imports, the treatment or transport the standard requires, and season windows where a dated source gives them.
  • SeedMatch is buyer-first and supplier-neutral. We do not publish supplier names, profiles or contact routes; a sourcing specialist reviews your request and approaches suitable, documented suppliers on your behalf, without revealing your identity.
  • Use Request a Quote on any product–origin row: the request opens pre-filled with the product, origin and Japan destination.

Procurement comparison by product

For each product, the origins in scope compared on official Japan access, Japan's reported 2025 imports (UN Comtrade), the treatment or transport the MAFF standard requires, and season windows only where a dated source gives them.

Multi-supplier RFQ that protects your identity

  1. Send one confidential request: products, grades, Japan destination, volumes, delivery window and the documents your customers need. You may name the origins you want approached.
  2. A sourcing specialist reviews the cited MAFF access information for each product–origin pair with you; your importer of record confirms the current rules before any shipment.
  3. Several suitable suppliers are approached with your specification only — your company name and contact details are not shared. Supplier communication is mediated by Global B2B Group, SeedMatch's parent group.
  4. Offers come back organised on one basis (Incoterm, pack, size, treatment, documents), with gaps marked, so you can compare before any introduction.

Free for buyers; managed sourcing for programmes from USD 250,000. No guarantee of price, supply or import approval.

Each Request a Quote link opens the request form pre-filled with the product, origin and Japan destination.

Found an error in a rule or figure? Tell us through the contact page and we will review the evidence. Producers and exporters who want to be considered for buyer requests can apply privately via the seller form; supplier details are never published.

Questions buyers ask

Why does this page not name suppliers?

SeedMatch is a buyer-first, supplier-neutral sourcing and RFQ platform, not a supplier directory. Supplier identities stay private; a sourcing specialist reviews your request and approaches suitable, documented suppliers on your behalf.

If a product has an official Japan standard, can it ship to Japan today?

Not necessarily. Production-site and packhouse lists are seasonal and site-specific. For each consignment the site and packhouse must be on the current list sent to MAFF and meet the treatment and certificate conditions.

Why are there no phone numbers or emails?

SeedMatch approaches suppliers on the buyer's behalf so the buyer's identity stays confidential and comparisons stay on one basis. Supplier communication is mediated by Global B2B Group, SeedMatch's parent group.

Can Kenyan avocado be sourced for Japan?

None, as of the sources reviewed on 26 Oct 2026: Japan prohibits fresh avocado from Kenya and MAFF lists Kenya's request as pending.

How do I ask for several suppliers to quote?

Send one confidential request with your products, Japan destination, volumes, timing and documents. A specialist checks the access rule per origin and approaches several suitable suppliers without your contact details. Free for buyers; programmes from USD 250,000.
