Questions buyers ask
Why does this page not name Colombian suppliers?
SeedMatch is a buyer-first, supplier-neutral sourcing and RFQ platform, not a supplier directory. Supplier identities stay private; a sourcing specialist reviews your request and approaches suitable, ICA-registered suppliers on your behalf.
Which Colombian fresh fruits can be exported to Japan?
MAFF standards exist for Colombian Hass avocado, Tommy Atkins mango and yellow pitaya, each with conditions such as designated orchards and packhouses or vapor heat treatment; immature bananas are excluded from Japan's banana prohibition. Fresh Cape gooseberry (uchuva), passion fruit and gulupa from Colombia fall under Japan's prohibited table; check any other fruit with the Plant Protection Station before quoting.
What ICA registrations should a Colombian supplier hold?
Under Resolución 824 de 2022, ICA registers the production site, the packhouse and the exporter separately. A sourcing specialist asks for these registrations for each lot before any offer is compared.
How do I ask several Colombian suppliers to quote?
Send one confidential request with products, destination, volumes, timing and documents. A specialist checks the access rule and approaches several suitable suppliers without your contact details. Free for buyers; programmes from USD 250,000.
