Fertilizers & plant nutrition

Liquid Fertilizers & Suspension Nutrition

Liquid nutrition converts a warehousing problem into a tank-farm problem. Handling is faster and dosing more precise, but the buyer takes on storage design, temperature limits, agitation for suspensions and material compatibility across the whole dosing train. The economics only work when delivered price per nutrient unit is compared including tankage and freight of water.

Commercial applications

  • Injected nutrition through pivot and drip systems
  • Starter fertilizer placed with the planter
  • Bulk on-farm tank farms with scheduled tanker delivery
  • Suspension products carrying micronutrients or sulphur

Who procures this

  • Broad-acre irrigated operations
  • Large vegetable and row-crop producers
  • Cooperatives operating shared tank farms

Why it matters commercially

Labour and dosing precision

Metered injection removes bag handling and lets the nutrition curve follow crop stage rather than spreader passes.

Uniformity

A homogeneous solution eliminates the segregation risk inherent in blended granular products.

Infrastructure clarity

The RFQ prices tankage, bunding, agitation and pumps alongside the product so the true landed cost is visible.

What a complete RFQ specifies

Technical specification lines

Analysis & density
w/w and w/v nutrient content, specific gravity at 20 °C
Salting-out temperature
Critical for winter storage and cold-climate transport
Suspension stability
Settling behaviour, agitation requirement, re-suspension time
Material compatibility
Tank, gasket, pump and injector materials; corrosion inhibitors
Delivery
Tanker, IBC or flexitank; discharge rate and site access constraints

Typical project sizes

Single-site tank farm
50 – 300 m³ storage, 200 – 1,200 t / year
Multi-pivot estate
500 – 3,000 t / year with seasonal peaks
Cooperative hub
5,000 t+ / year, rail or coastal tanker supply

Standards, registrations and certification

  • ISO 9001 manufacturing and batch traceability
  • Local bunding, spill-containment and environmental permitting
  • SDS and transport classification for the destination country
  • Calibration certificates for injection equipment

How this guidance is produced

Supplier-neutral

We do not manufacture equipment and do not represent a fixed vendor list. Guidance reflects the project, not a catalogue.

Human-led review

Content is prepared and reviewed by sourcing specialists working on live commercial agriculture projects, supported by proprietary technology.

International scope

Practice drawn from greenhouse, CEA, irrigation, nursery, packing-house and processing projects across multiple climates and regulatory environments.
