Fertigation Systems for Commercial Agriculture

A fertigation system is where hydraulics, chemistry and control software meet. Buyers frequently procure the unit and discover the constraint elsewhere — undersized filtration, unstable supply pressure or a control system that cannot export its own data. The scope must therefore be written across the whole train: source, filtration, dosing, control, sensing and flushing.

Commercial applications

  • Greenhouse and screenhouse nutrient delivery
  • Open-field drip and micro-sprinkler fertigation
  • Orchard and plantation blocks with zone control
  • Retrofit of dosing into existing irrigation infrastructure

Who procures this

  • Protected cropping operations
  • High-value irrigated field producers
  • Plantation and orchard estates

Why it matters commercially

Application precision

Dosing accuracy and closed-loop EC/pH control turn a nutrition plan into a delivered dose per zone.

Whole-train specification

Filtration, pressure and flushing are quoted with the unit, which prevents the classic post-installation bottleneck.

Data ownership

Open protocols and export formats are required in the RFQ so the operation is not locked to one vendor's cloud.

What a complete RFQ specifies

Technical specification lines

Flow & pressure
Design m³/h, inlet pressure range, zone hydraulics
Dosing
Channel count, accuracy tolerance, proportional or closed-loop control
Control & sensing
EC/pH probes, redundancy, alarms, calibration procedure
Filtration
Screen, disc or media; automatic backflush and pressure differential
Scope of supply
Design, installation, commissioning, training, warranty and spares

Typical project sizes

Single greenhouse block
10 – 60 m³/h, 1 – 5 ha
Estate system
60 – 300 m³/h, multi-zone with head control
Industrial project
300 m³/h+, pump station and SCADA integration

Standards, registrations and certification

  • ISO 9001 manufacturing quality
  • CE / UL electrical compliance for the destination market
  • Backflow prevention per local water regulation
  • Documented commissioning and calibration certificates

How this guidance is produced

Supplier-neutral

We do not manufacture equipment and do not represent a fixed vendor list. Guidance reflects the project, not a catalogue.

Human-led review

Content is prepared and reviewed by sourcing specialists working on live commercial agriculture projects, supported by proprietary technology.

International scope

Practice drawn from greenhouse, CEA, irrigation, nursery, packing-house and processing projects across multiple climates and regulatory environments.

Confidential by default

Project details stay private. Nothing is published, listed or shared with suppliers without your approval.
