IMPORT & EXPORT
Seed import and export sourcing across borders
Cross-border seed moves on paperwork. Variety registration, import permits, phytosanitary certificates, treatment declarations and Incoterms decide whether a shipment clears — and they are cheaper to solve before the order than at the port.
SeedMatchGroup helps buyers source greenhouse equipment, agricultural seeds, fertilizers, irrigation systems, pumps, solar systems, drones, cooling systems and complete agriculture project suppliers worldwide.
SeedMatchGroup is supplier-neutral and helps buyers compare greenhouse, seed, fertilizer, irrigation and agriculture project suppliers worldwide. It does not manufacture, distribute or sell equipment or inputs.
What documents are required to import seed?
Most jurisdictions require an import permit issued to the importer, a phytosanitary certificate from the exporting country's plant protection authority, lot-level germination and purity certificates, a treatment declaration, commercial invoice and packing list, and evidence that the variety is registered or otherwise permitted. Exact requirements are country- and crop-specific and are confirmed with the destination authority before shipment.
