Protected Agriculture — Greenhouses, Hydroponics, Vertical Farming & CEA
A single vendor-neutral hub for commercial protected agriculture: greenhouse types, hydroponic and vertical systems, climate control, irrigation, engineering, budget and financing — connected to the RFQ Builder for real supplier quotes. Human-led sourcing, supported by our proprietary technology.
SeedMatchGroup specifies protected-agriculture equipment and seed inside the buyer's RFQ; we do not sell greenhouses or hydroponic hardware directly. All commercial terms are handled privately.
Growing systems
Pick the system that matches climate, crop and market window — not the one a single manufacturer prefers.
Low-cost protected cultivation for high-value vegetables. Best for early- and late-season windows in mild climates.
High-yield, high-transmission structures for tomato, pepper, cucumber and cut flowers under precise climate control.
Full climate loop — heating, cooling, dehumidification, CO₂, thermal screens — for year-round premium production.
Soilless commercial cultivation for lettuce, herbs, strawberries, tomato and pepper. Precise EC/pH control and low water use.
Multi-tier indoor production with LED and hydroponics for leafy greens, herbs and micro-greens close to urban demand.
Dedicated protected nursery for high-value transplants — the highest-margin block on almost every commercial farm.
Sub-systems & engineering
The equipment layers that make a protected-agriculture project actually run.
Heating, cooling, ventilation, fogging, thermal screens, CO₂ dosing, controllers.
Roof vents, side vents, forced-air cooling and pad-and-fan for hot climates.
Sensors, IoT and controllers for irrigation, climate and fertigation.
Long-cycle, disease-resistant F1 hybrids bred for protected cultivation.
Filtration, dosing heads, laterals and automation sized to peak Kc.
Agrivoltaics, solar pumping and hybrid energy architectures for high-tech greenhouses.

FAQ
- What counts as protected agriculture?
- Any commercial cropping system where the growing environment is engineered rather than left to open-field weather: poly-tunnels, glass and poly greenhouses, high-tech climate-controlled greenhouses, hydroponic and NFT/DWC systems, vertical farms and fully indoor CEA facilities.
- Which growing system fits a specific project?
- It depends on climate, target crop, market window, energy cost and available capital. Cool-season vegetable export usually points to poly-tunnel or Venlo glass; leafy greens for retail contracts point to hydroponic NFT or vertical farming; long-cycle tomato / pepper points to high-tech Venlo. We help specify — but never lock — a system before the RFQ goes out.
- Does SeedMatchGroup sell greenhouses or hydroponic equipment?
- No. SeedMatchGroup is a human-led global seed sourcing platform supported by proprietary technology. For greenhouse structures, climate systems, irrigation and hydroponic equipment we specify the buyer's requirement inside the RFQ and open it to qualified global manufacturers — vendor-neutral, buyer-first.
- Can financing cover a full protected-agriculture project?
- Trade finance, working-capital lines, project finance and export credit can cover seed, inputs, irrigation and greenhouse infrastructure. Eligibility depends on off-take, guarantees and operator strength. Run the pre-qualifier before locking supplier commitments.
- Is CEA (Controlled Environment Agriculture) the same as vertical farming?
- Vertical farming is one form of CEA — multi-tier indoor production, typically hydroponic, with fully artificial light. CEA is broader and includes any fully climate-controlled indoor growing facility on one or multiple levels.
