What is NPK fertilizer and how is the right grade chosen?
NPK fertilizer supplies nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in a declared ratio such as 15-15-15 or 12-6-24. The right grade is chosen from a soil or substrate analysis plus the crop's nutrient removal at target yield, adjusted by growth stage — high phosphorus at establishment, high potassium during fruit fill. Buying a standard grade without an analysis usually over-applies one nutrient and under-applies another.
