How do you calculate a fertigation stock solution and injection rate?

Fertigation dosing sets the target nutrient concentration in the final solution, then works back to the stock tank concentration factor and the injector ratio required at the irrigation flow rate, checked against EC and pH targets.

  • Injection rate (L/h) = irrigation flow (m³/h) × 1,000 ÷ dilution ratio.
  • Stock tanks are typically 1:100 or 1:200 concentrate.
  • Keep calcium separate from phosphate and sulphate stocks to avoid precipitation.
  • Target EC for most greenhouse vegetables is 1.8–3.0 mS/cm at the dripper.
