How do you size an irrigation system and season fertilizer quantity?
Peak daily demand (m³/day) = hectares × peak crop water use (mm/day) × 10 ÷ system efficiency, and required flow (m³/h) = daily demand ÷ available irrigation hours. Season fertilizer quantity is the target N, P₂O₅ and K₂O rate per hectare × area, divided by assumed nutrient use efficiency.

- Planning efficiency: drip 85–92%, sprinkler 70–85%, surface 50–65%.
- Zone count = required flow ÷ maximum flow per zone, rounded up.
- Injection rate (L/h) = daily nutrient mass ÷ stock concentration ÷ irrigation hours.
