Frequently asked questions
Crop and required variety characteristics, growing system (open field, net house, greenhouse, hydroponic), target market and fruit specification, planting area and dates, total quantity in seeds or kilograms, minimum germination and purity, seed treatment requirement, packaging and lot size, phytosanitary and import requirements, and destination country. Volume without variety characteristics cannot be quoted against.
Germination and purity set how much seed is needed for a target plant population and therefore the real cost per established plant, not the cost per kilogram. Seed treatment (priming, pelleting, film coating, fungicide) affects establishment, sowing equipment compatibility and import admissibility in some markets. All three belong in the specification, not in post-award negotiation.
Request samples with lot numbers and certificates, run a small trial under the buyer's real conditions and season, and record establishment, cycle length, disease pressure and fruit specification against the intended market. Variety performance published anywhere — including here — is reference information and does not transfer to another climate, soil or growing system.
Phytosanitary certificate, certificate of analysis or seed-lot test report per lot, origin documentation, treatment declaration, import permit where required, commercial invoice and packing list. Some markets add variety registration or listing requirements, which must be checked before the order rather than at the port.
No. Producers, breeders and seed-house identities stay private and are released only inside the qualified private request flow. All communication runs through SeedMatchGroup until the buyer selects an offer.
One private brief is submitted; a sourcing specialist reviews it manually, identifies the missing information and normalises it into a single written specification; qualified manufacturers, integrators and EPC contractors are approached only after that internal approval; returned offers are normalised to the same scope, lead time and delivery terms so they can be compared line by line. No supplier is contacted automatically and no buyer contact details are released automatically.
